AI Analysis

Peasants (1935) is a period drama that prioritizes class struggle over individual identity politics. Its strength lies in its cultural critique, using the agrarian setting to dismantle traditional hierarchies and highlight systemic oppression. However, the film is limited by its historical context, lacking any representation of LGBTQ+ identities or disability. The ethnic homogeneity reflects the specific Russian setting but offers little intersectional variety. Ultimately, the film succeeds as a social commentary on the working class, even if it remains narrow in its depiction of personal identities.
