A film based on the life of the Russian scientist, Klement Timiriazev, who taught at Cambridge and Oxford and was awarded the Newton Mantle for his work. Timiriazev, one of the few outstanding Russian scientists who (publically) backed the Soviets in their revolutionary campaign, was later elected a delegate to the Leningrad Soviet by the sailors of the Baltic fleet. There he denounced his fellow scientists for failing to aid the Soviets and predicted that such aid would come.

AI Analysis
Baltic Deputy is an ideological drama that prioritizes political and systemic critique over modern identity-based representation. It functions as a vehicle for Socialist Realism, challenging Western institutional hegemony through the lens of a Russian scientist. The film excels in its cultural deconstruction of Western academic authority. By positioning the protagonist against the elite structures of Cambridge and Oxford, it champions a collective, revolutionary worldview. However, the film lacks diversity in terms of LGBTQ+ identities and racial intersectionality. Its focus remains strictly on the class-based and nationalistic struggles of the Soviet era.
