AI Analysis
Nell Gwyn is a traditional historical romance that prioritizes class struggle over modern identity politics. The film's strength lies in its subversion of gendered expectations through its protagonist's agency. However, the film remains limited by the era's production standards, resulting in a lack of racial, LGBTQ+, and disability representation. The narrative focus is strictly confined to the internal class tensions of the English Restoration court.
