AI Analysis

The film excels in its sophisticated gender analysis, reclaiming the perspective of a woman often relegated to a mere muse. By focusing on Nelly Ternan, the narrative challenges the era's patriarchal structures and the systemic erasure of female agency. However, the production is limited by its strict adherence to the demographic realities of 1857 London. The lack of racial and LGBTQ+ diversity keeps the overall score low, despite the film's progressive thematic depth. Ultimately, the work functions as a sharp critique of Western institutional power and the social hypocrisy of the Victorian era, offering meaningful commentary on class and gender.
