The series stands out by challenging traditional gender roles, placing women in powerful and influential positions. However, it falls short in representing diverse racial and LGBTQ+ identities. Additionally, the narrative explores complex moral themes but stays within the confines of its cultural context.
Category Breakdown
The story hints at same-sex relationships through ambiguous emotional connections but lacks clear LGBTQ+ identity markers or explicit depictions of same-sex intimacy.
Women play key roles in the story, occupying positions of authority and specialized intellectual roles. The series challenges traditional gender hierarchies by making women central to the plot and leadership.
The cast is predominantly Japanese with little diversity in race or ethnicity. There is no clear effort to include characters from different racial backgrounds.
The story examines moral ambiguity through the contrast between hope and despair. It questions how societal breakdown leads to radicalization and focuses on restoring order.
