Hell of Roses is a product of the pinku eiga genre, prioritizing eroticized exploitation over meaningful representation. The narrative structure is built upon the subjugation of women, using sexual violence as a primary driver for male-centric conflict and jealousy. Rather than challenging social hierarchies, the film reinforces harmful power dynamics. The focus remains on individualistic, predatory behavior and the objectification of female characters, offering no intersectional depth or diverse perspectives.
