Hot Tub Time Machine is a traditional comedy that centers around male-focused perspectives and nostalgia. The story follows a straightforward structure that reinforces existing gender and racial hierarchies rather than challenging them. The homogeneous cast and reliance on well-known comedic formulas result in a lack of diverse representation.
