Bells of Rosarita is a conventional mid-century Western that adheres to the social norms and genre clichés of its era. While it features a female protagonist with economic stakes, the plot relies on male intervention to achieve resolution. The film lacks diversity in terms of racial, cultural, and LGBTQ+ representation, reflecting the standard casting and narrative practices of 1945 Hollywood. It prioritizes traditional moral clarity and the protection of property over systemic questioning. Ultimately, the film reinforces established social structures rather than challenging them.
