AI Analysis
Gaslight is a period thriller that functions as a critique of traditional power dynamics. While it lacks demographic variety, it offers a sophisticated look at the breakdown of domestic trust and the subversion of gendered authority. The film's strength lies in its psychological depth, specifically how it dismantles the idea of the domestic male as a protector. However, it remains limited by its historical context, offering a narrow, homogeneous view of society. Ultimately, the film trades intersectional representation for a focused study of psychological abuse and the corruption of social institutions.
