Synopsis

Since the late 18th century American legal decision that the business corporation organizational model is legally a person, it has become a dominant economic, political and social force around the globe. This film takes an in-depth psychological examination of the organization model through various case studies. What the study illustrates is that in the its behaviour, this type of "person" typically acts like a dangerously destructive psychopath without conscience. Furthermore, we see the profound threat this psychopath has for our world and our future, but also how the people with courage, intelligence and determination can do to stop it.

  • Provides a deep systemic critique of Western capitalist institutions and their social impact.
  • Avoids identity-based tropes by focusing on the pathology of organizations.

Areas for Improvement

  • Does not explicitly focus on subverting or exploring gendered social hierarchies.
  • Relies on metaphorical uses of psychological terms rather than depicting lived experiences.

AI Analysis

The Corporation functions primarily as an institutional critique rather than a study of demographic identity. Its narrative architecture is designed to challenge socioeconomic hierarchies and the morality of global capitalism. While the film lacks specific visibility for LGBTQ+ or gender-based identities, it succeeds in providing a globalized view of corporate impact. This prevents the film from feeling like a strictly Western-centric monologue. The use of psychological terminology to describe corporate behavior is a sophisticated, if controversial, stylistic choice. It shifts the lens from individual people to the systemic dysfunction of the organization itself.
