New Showbiz Analysis

The film stands out by placing a transgender woman at the center of a horror narrative. Instead of using her identity as a gimmick, the story integrates her personhood into her journey of escaping domestic violence. By emphasizing her ability to act and survival, the film challenges traditional horror clichés. It shifts away from conventional archetypes to focus on a non-assuming gender matches what was assigned at birth perspective. However, the absence of data on racial diversity and specific disability representation limits a more inclusive assessment of the film.
