Falling Star (2014) deconstructs historical majesty by focusing on the psychological interiority of its characters rather than grand-scale heroism. It shifts the lens from the rigid requirements of the monarchy to the playful impulses of those living within it. While the film lacks significant racial diversity or explicit LGBTQ+ visibility, it challenges traditional historical drama by prioritizing personal desire over formal structures. Ultimately, its strength lies in its narrative structure, which emphasizes personal connections and desires over political narratives.
