While waiting for their new home to be renovated, Nellie and her younger brother George are sent to a farm in the countryside, much to George's delight and Nellie's disgust. However, the farmhouse and the surrounding area are teeming with fey creatures. The first the two children encounter is a somewhat crotchety and unfriendly hobgoblin named Broom, who is (more or less) secretly looking after the farm.

AI Analysis
Faeries (1999) functions as a conventional family adventure typical of its era. The narrative relies heavily on established character archetypes, such as the contrasting reactions of the two siblings to their rural environment. While the fantasy elements provide a canvas for non-human species, there is little evidence of intentional intersectional representation. The film follows standard storytelling patterns rather than subverting social hierarchies. Ultimately, the work lacks specific indicators of diverse identities, focusing instead on a straightforward magical discovery plot within a traditional family framework.
