Privalov's Millions is a period drama that prioritizes systemic critique over modern characters who reflect more than one aspect of diversity. The film excels at deconstructing the morality of wealth, framing the accumulation of capital as an obstacle to social progress rather than a virtue. While the narrative provides a robust look at class struggle and the tension between reformers and corrupt elites, it remains limited in terms of identity-based diversity. The casting and character archetypes align with the homogeneous demographic expectations of 1970s Soviet cinema. Ultimately, the film's strength lies in its cultural commentary on social welfare and institutional corruption, even as it lacks explicit representation for LGBTQ+ or disabled individuals.
