Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise presents a stark, anti-militarist view of World War II. Through a protagonist who writes fake heroic stories, the film dismantles the glorification of nationalistic sacrifice and state propaganda. It stands out for its cultural critique, offering a non-Western perspective on World War II that focuses on the raw reality of suffering and systemic collapse. However, the film's narrow focus on a male-dominated environment and lack of explicit identity representation limit its broader demographic diversity.
