AI Analysis

Demented operates within the traditional conventions of the 1980 crime-horror genre. The narrative focuses heavily on individual psychological trauma and domestic dysfunction rather than any broader social or intersectional commentary. The film relies on established tropes of female victimization and marital instability. While it explores the fracturing of the nuclear family, it does so through a narrow lens of personal suffering rather than systemic critique. Ultimately, the work lacks discernible evidence of intentional subversion of social hierarchies, remaining rooted in a conventional framework of gendered vulnerability and psychological horror.
