The Constable is a conventional action-drama that emphasizes traditional values of heroism and patriarchal responsibility. It reinforces established social and moral hierarchies without challenging them. While the film explores themes of caretaking and personal duty, it lacks complexity in addressing multiple aspects of diversity. The narrative structure relies on clear-cut moral dichotomies between heroes and villains. Ultimately, the film adheres to established cinematic conventions of the Hong Kong genre, emphasizing duty and institutional loyalty over progressive social deconstruction.
