The year is 1985. Oliver, a boy with an overflowing imagination, moves with his family to the southernmost corner of Europe, just as Halley's Comet is about to pass by. These events will mark a before and after in the emotional life of Óliver, who will look to the stars for the solution to his problems in the new school, in the neighborhood and at home. To make matters worse, his grandfather, nicknamed "el majara" is encouraged to help him interpret the comet's message and take a step forward in his new Universe.

The film focuses on the protagonist's internal emotional life and familial bonds. There is no explicit mention of queer identities or non-heteronormative characters in the narrative.
Gender Representation

Set in 1985 Southern Europe, the film likely reflects the era's demographics. The move to a new neighborhood suggests a potential exploration of community and social integration.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The narrative prioritizes personal imagination and subjective truth over rigid institutional structures. It uses Halley's Comet to frame a more individualized, secular form of spiritualism.

AI Analysis
Oliver's Universe is a character-driven drama that prioritizes emotional intelligence and the validation of subjective experience. It succeeds in portraying a child's internal landscape through a unique, imaginative lens. However, the film lacks explicit intersectional markers. The narrative remains centered on a traditional coming-of-age framework without addressing broader systemic or identity-based critiques. Ultimately, the film's strength lies in its nuanced exploration of personal perception, even if it stays within a relatively narrow demographic scope.
