Young Ondra has asthma and so his parents throw away his favourite toy: a musty old stuffed bear named Kooky. That night Ondra dreams that Kooky is determined to find his way back home from the dump. In the boy's fantasy, the bear gets lost in a forest occupied by strange animals and remarkable beings that he never heard of while living on the toy shelf in Ondra's room. And of course even in this small imaginary world, true good exists as does real evil, which Kooky must face up to in order to become a real hero.

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The story centers on a singular protagonist and the bond between a child and his toy. There is no evidence of non-cisnormative identities or narratives that critique heteronormativity.
Gender Representation
The narrative focuses on a male child and a male-coded toy. The hero's journey framework utilizes traditional masculine archetypes of bravery and struggle without detailing female agency.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The setting appears to be a localized, domestic environment. There is no indication of a multi-ethnic cast or the use of non-human species as metaphors for racial diversity.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The film follows a clear binary of good versus evil, reinforcing traditional moral frameworks. It emphasizes familial values and the emotional stability of returning home.
Disability Representation
The character Ondra is identified as having asthma. While a chronic respiratory condition, its inclusion adds a layer of neuro-physical reality to the character's identity.

AI Analysis
Kooky follows a classic hero's journey through a fantastical wilderness. The narrative prioritizes universal themes of childhood sentimentality and the struggle between good and evil. While the film provides meaningful representation of a chronic health condition through Ondra's asthma, it lacks broader social complexity. The story adheres to traditional storytelling tropes rather than challenging established hierarchies. The focus remains on a homogeneous domestic experience, centering on a male-coded protagonist and a singular, sentimental relationship.
