The film serves as a historical political comedy centered on the power vacuum created by a missing president. Its narrative structure emphasizes the rivalry between two men, focusing on period-specific political satire rather than modern storytelling that reflects multiple aspects of identity. While the setting provides insight into 1920s France, the focus remains on a homogeneous political elite, reflecting the social hierarchies of the time.
