Oloibiri serves as a potent critique of post-colonial exploitation, shifting the focus from resource discovery to the resulting communal decay. By centering the Nigerian experience, the film challenges the standard Western gaze often found in action-adventure cinema. The narrative succeeds in its socio-political depth, using the history of Oloibiri to explore resource sovereignty and systemic neglect. It replaces traditional developmental milestones with a framework of localized struggle and resistance. However, the film's reliance on male-driven conflict and the lack of visible representation for other identities suggest a narrow demographic focus. While culturally rich, the scope of its social representation remains limited to the central generational and political clash.
