New Showbiz Analysis

The film focuses on interpersonal power dynamics within a specific 1979 Italian context. It lacks diversity in racial and LGBTQ+ representation, which keeps the overall score low. However, the film gains merit through its treatment of gender. By allowing the female protagonist to weaponize the skills taught to her, the narrative challenges traditional expectations of female passivity. Ultimately, the work prioritizes psychological melodrama over systemic or diverse social exploration.
