New Showbiz Analysis

The film follows a traditional historical horror framework using the legend of Elizabeth Bathory to explore themes of systemic predation and the corruption of aristocratic power in 17th-century Hungary. It potentially challenges traditional gender roles by featuring a powerful female antagonist. However, the narrative remains confined to the demographic and social norms of its historical setting, lacking diverse representation.
