House Arrest offers a moderate representation of diversity by featuring a multi-ethnic cast to explore social stratification. The film avoids homogeneous casting by contrasting high-life suburban environments with different socioeconomic realities. However, the narrative remains tied to conventional comedic structures. It prioritizes situational irony and personal stakes over a deeper exploration of systemic power dynamics or identity politics. While the film provides a central female perspective through its protagonist, it does not extensively engage with non-straight-centered identities or disability representation.
