Frost is a minimalist drama that deconstructs the traditional family unit. By focusing on a mother and child fleeing domestic violence, the film challenges the notion of the home as a secure space. The narrative effectively critiques systemic failures, highlighting how socioeconomic and patriarchal structures can fail vulnerable individuals. It contrasts religious sanctity with a raw, survivalist reality. However, the film lacks demographic diversity. It focuses on a localized, homogeneous social landscape with little representation of LGBTQ+ identities, multi-ethnic casts, or visible disabilities.
