Wandering is a character-driven exploration of social alienation that favors realism over mainstream clichés. It successfully challenges traditional masculine roles by emphasizing emotional vulnerability rather than stoic competence. However, the film lacks clear markers of diverse identities. It does not feature explicit LGBTQ+ narratives or representations of disability, which limits its progressive impact. Ultimately, the film excels in examining the individual's struggle against systemic and communal pressures, offering a nuanced portrayal of social displacement within a specific South Korean context.
