Groom's Block is a gritty social realist drama that uses a specific Turkish prison setting to deconstruct institutional power. It provides a non-Western critique of systemic corruption and the fragility of moral norms. However, the film's diversity is limited by its narrow focus on male-dominated environments. The lack of female perspectives and ability to act, along with the treatment of sexual identity as a source of tension rather than a lived identity, prevent a more inclusive score. Ultimately, the film is a study of systemic friction and social contradictions rather than a diverse tapestry of identities.
