Noorie is a sentimental drama that uses the theme of transcendent love to navigate complex socio-religious landscapes. It succeeds in using character dynamics to advocate for communal harmony, particularly by exploring the human cost of social stratification through a cross-communal romance. While the film offers a nuanced exploration of identity within a rural framework, it lacks modern multi-layered markers. There is no visibility for LGBTQ+ individuals or neurodivergent characters, and the gender dynamics reflect the period's cinematic constraints. Ultimately, the film's strength lies in its critique of sectarianism. By centering the tension between individual ability to act and communal tradition, it disrupts the expectation of total adherence to rigid social hierarchies.
