New Showbiz Analysis

Where’s Poppa? is a traditional character comedy that upholds established social hierarchies. The narrative centers on the personal anxieties of a white, middle-class protagonist dealing with family obligations. The film lacks depth in exploring diverse identities and social structures. It operates within a narrow socioeconomic and racial framework typical of its era. While the plot uses cognitive decline to generate tension, it does not provide a nuanced examination of aging or neurodivergence, instead relying on character-driven comedic conflict.
