Queen of Spades: Through the Looking Glass functions as a traditional genre piece. It prioritizes supernatural dread and atmospheric horror over the exploration of identity-based agency or intersectional complexities. The film adheres to established cinematic tropes without attempting to disrupt conventional social hierarchies.
