Arturo Pérez Torres delivers a powerful social document that shifts the migration narrative away from institutional perspectives toward lived human experiences. By following two friends through a perilous journey, the film highlights the resilience and grace of those navigating systemic nightmares. The documentary's greatest strength lies in its racial and cultural depth. It effectively centers Latino voices, providing them with ability to act rather than treating them as passive subjects of political discourse. This approach offers a sophisticated critique of national borders and capitalist structures. However, the film's narrow focus on the socioeconomic journey of undocumented migrants means that other identity markers, such as LGBTQ+ or disability representation, are not explored. This results in a neutral score for those specific categories.
