Aharon has devoted his life to raising his son Uri. They live together in a gentle routine, away from the real world. But Uri is autistic, and now as a young adult it might be time for him to live in a specialized home. While on their way to the institution, Aharon decides to run away with his son and hits the road, knowing that Uri is not ready for this separation. Or is it, in fact, his father who is not ready?

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The film focuses strictly on the heteronormative relationship between a father and his son. There is no explicit evidence of LGBTQ+ characters or non-cisnormative identities within the narrative.
Gender Representation
Aharon subverts traditional masculinity by occupying an intensive caretaking role. His devotion to domestic and emotional labor challenges the archetype of the male provider as a purely economic force.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
Set within an Israeli context, the film features a localized cast. While it avoids a Western-centric universal family model, the specific intersectional identities of the supporting cast are not detailed.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The story critiques Western-style social institutions by pitting personal morality against rigid systemic requirements. The protagonist's rejection of a specialized home highlights the tension between autonomy and institutional management.
Disability Representation
The film provides a sophisticated look at neurodivergence by centering Uri's agency. It avoids 'inspiration porn' tropes, focusing instead on the messy reality of an autistic young adult's need for independence.

AI Analysis
Nir Bergman’s drama succeeds by centering the complex, lived experience of neurodivergence rather than using disability as a mere plot device. By making Uri’s autonomy the central pivot of the story, the film avoids reductive tropes and offers a nuanced portrayal of disability. The film also provides a meaningful subversion of gender roles. Aharon’s role as a primary caregiver presents a version of masculinity defined by vulnerability and domestic labor, moving away from traditional provider archetypes. However, the film lacks breadth in other areas of representation. The narrative remains focused on a heteronormative dyad and lacks explicit LGBTQ+ or high-level racial intersectionality, which limits its overall diversity impact.
