AI Analysis
A House Made of Splinters is a humanistic study of resilience centered on a temporary refuge for displaced children in eastern Ukraine. It prioritizes individual agency and the immediate ethics of care over institutional perspectives. The film's strength lies in its systemic critique, challenging the perceived stability of large-scale political structures. It focuses on the grueling reality of survival rather than leaning into tropes of inspiration. However, the documentary's localized context limits its breadth. The homogeneity of the subjects and the absence of explicit LGBTQ+ or diverse ethnic narratives result in a moderate diversity profile.
