New Showbiz Analysis

The film adheres to established horror genre conventions, prioritizing traditional formulas over subversion of social hierarchies. While it provides a non-Western perspective through its Thai setting, the narrative structure remains largely conventional. Gender representation in the film is mixed; the protagonist has professional ability to act, but the central conflict relies on the archetype of female victimization. This reinforces rather than challenges existing gender hierarchies. Ultimately, the work lacks intentional efforts to deconstruct social hierarchies or explore the blending of different aspects of identity, focusing instead on localized, individual tragedies within a narrow focus on straight relationships.
