Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The narrative focuses on a societal condition regarding laughter rather than sexual orientation. There is no explicit evidence of queer identities or critiques of heteronormativity within the premise.
Gender Representation
The film uses high-concept allegory to explore human emotion. Character arcs regarding gender hierarchies are absent, leaving representation within the realm of traditional dramatic archetypes.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The story depicts a universalized, speculative society defined by a singular psychological trait. There is no evidence of a multi-ethnic cast or intentional use of non-white majority casting.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The premise critiques established social norms by reimagining the human experience. The focus on psychoanalysis suggests a secular, analytical framework rather than traditional religious institutions.
Disability Representation
A central 'strange illness' drives the plot. The film's approach to neurodivergence depends on whether this condition is treated as a unique perspective or a clinical deficit.

AI Analysis
Zygomatiques functions as a philosophical allegory rather than a character-driven study of identity. The narrative prioritizes a conceptual exploration of a world without humor over specific demographic representation. While the film disrupts social expectations by reimagining fundamental human experiences, it lacks the intersectional markers necessary for a high diversity rating. The focus remains on a collective human condition rather than individual identity politics. Ultimately, the work leans toward a secular, psychological framework. It succeeds in subverting social norms through its premise but offers little in the way of explicit racial, gender, or queer visibility.
