Inviting the ex-wife to a family reunion when the none-too-secure new wife will be there hardly seems to be a recipe for success, and true to form, bodies have begun to stack up by the end of this cinematic update of a classic Agatha Christie tale. Luckily for the extended clan gathered at a sumptuous waterfront estate in Northern France, Inspector Martin Bataille is on hand to find out not only "who done it" but why.

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The story centers on traditional marital rivalries between an ex-wife and a new wife. It lacks evidence of non-cisnormative identities or any critique of heteronormative structures.
Gender Representation
Female-centric dynamics drive the plot through interpersonal tension. However, these characters often fall into traditional tropes of domestic jealousy rather than demonstrating agency outside of romantic competition.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The setting in Northern France suggests a demographic homogeneity common to European period mysteries. The narrative appears to default to a traditional, Eurocentric social milieu.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The film focuses on bourgeois social etiquette and Western class structures. It prioritizes resolving a crime within a stable social order rather than critiquing Western institutions.
Disability Representation
There is no mention of characters with visible or invisible disabilities in the narrative description.

AI Analysis
Towards Zero operates strictly within the established conventions of the classic Agatha Christie whodunit. The narrative architecture prioritizes suspense and the unraveling of social facades within a high-society setting. While the film offers a platform for complex female character studies through its central conflict, it remains tethered to traditional social hierarchies. The focus stays on interpersonal tension rather than systemic subversion. Ultimately, the production reflects a Eurocentric, bourgeois milieu. It functions as a character study of domestic rivalry rather than an exploration of intersectional or diverse identities.
