AI Analysis

Si j'étais elle functions as a targeted critique of patriarchal domesticity. It finds its strength in subverting traditional gender hierarchies, specifically by dismantling the trope of the stable, competent male head of household through Alex's flawed characterization. However, the film lacks significant intersectional breadth. The narrative remains centered on a conventional demographic framework, offering little visibility for LGBTQ+ identities or multi-ethnic representation. Ultimately, the film is a character-driven study of interpersonal power dynamics that succeeds in challenging domestic norms but fails to engage with broader social diversity.
