Una gallega en México is a character-driven comedy that reflects the social conventions of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. The film's primary interest lies in the cultural intersection of a Spanish immigrant navigating a Mexican urban environment. However, the film adheres closely to the era's standard social hierarchies. Romantic and interpersonal conflicts follow conventional patterns, offering little challenge to the status quo. While the cross-cultural premise adds some ethnic depth, the gender dynamics and lack of diverse identity representation keep the narrative within traditional mid-20th-century boundaries.
