The Beetle is a personal documentary that focuses on an individual's journey and domestic tensions. It adheres to standard narrative structures and prioritizes a micro-narrative over broader social commentary. Because the film centers on a narrow personal story, it lacks the diversity needed for higher scores. It operates within traditional frameworks without challenging them. Ultimately, the film serves as an intimate, auteur-driven observation of a singular life transition, offering limited engagement with diverse social identities.
