New Showbiz Analysis

Hieronymus Bosch: Touched by the Devil is a scholarly documentary that delves into the tension between late-medieval religious orthodoxy and individual expression. It uses Bosch's fantastical imagery to explore how he challenged the systemic authority of his time. The film's strength lies in its intellectual exploration of moral relativism and social rebellion. It presents historical deviance as a sophisticated response to oppressive religious structures. However, the documentary lacks modern demographic representation. Rooted in a specific historical European context, it does not engage with contemporary multi-layered or racial narratives.
