The film presents a slice of life in a northern village, focusing on the collective identity of its inhabitants. While it does not include modern markers of diversity, it offers a character-driven exploration of communal life. The narrative structure is rooted in the values of the Soviet era, emphasizing labor and social integration, which contrasts with Western individualistic storytelling. However, it remains confined by the demographic homogeneity of its setting.
