AI Analysis

Parallel Courses is a high-stakes domestic drama that uses a medical crisis to disrupt established family structures. The central conflict arises from a biological switch at birth, forcing a legal examination of motherhood and social ties. The film provides meaningful agency to its female leads, centering the story on their decision-making during a crisis. However, the narrative operates within traditional dramatic conventions rather than deconstructing them. While the plot addresses medical necessity and the complexities of family law, it lacks explicit intersectional markers or diverse identity representations beyond the central maternal conflict.
