Ingrid Chikhaoui's drama offers a nuanced look at domestic disruption by centering on the actions and experiences of women. The film avoids traditional, sanitized family portrayals, instead focusing on the psychological instability of a mother and her daughters. By shifting away from conventional stability and presenting a chaotic, psychologically driven storyline, it provides a complex view of femininity and domestic life. However, the film lacks clarity regarding racial and ethnic diversity and does not explicitly address permanent disabilities or non-straight/cisgender identities.
