Seventeen year old Elizabeth and her younger sister Sam are thrust into circumstances more terrifying than life with their abusive, drunken mother when they are forced to move into their deceased grandfather's house. Frightened beyond belief, they are forced to learn horrible things about their family history. Never mind the ghosts in the house, there is something far worse that takes an interest in them ... a cannibalistic clown named Crepitus.

AI Analysis
Crepitus is a character-driven horror film that finds its progressive edge through the deconstruction of the domestic sphere. Rather than offering a sanctuary, the film presents the family unit as a source of systemic harm and instability. The narrative succeeds in subverting traditional gender roles by placing female survival at the forefront. By portraying the mother as a source of trauma rather than a nurturer, the film challenges conventional expectations of familial stability. However, the film lacks overt markers of intersectional identity. It provides little to no visibility for LGBTQ+ identities, diverse racial backgrounds, or specific disability representation, remaining largely focused on a narrow demographic.
