Dog Watch operates as a conventional crime thriller centered on a male detective's descent into extrajudicial violence. The narrative emphasizes themes of police corruption and moral relativism over demographic variety. The film lacks multi-layered depth, focusing heavily on male-centric action and professional crises. While it challenges the archetype of the stable police officer, it does not extend this challenge to gender or identity hierarchies. Overall, the production lacks the necessary intentionality for a high diversity score, functioning as a standard crime thriller.
