Nefertiti and the Lost Dynasty is a historical documentary that centers on the mystery of an Egyptian queen. It avoids Eurocentric historical clichés and offers a degree of ethnic representation through its focus on Ancient Egyptian royalty. However, the film lacks the narrative depth needed for higher diversity scores. It does not address LGBTQ+ themes, identity politics, or the deconstruction of social hierarchies. The focus remains strictly on archaeological inquiry and the political transitions of a specific historical era. Ultimately, while the film highlights female empowerment through Nefertiti, it remains a conventional historical study rather than a progressive exploration of social norms.

Official Synopsis
It is one of Egypt's enduring mysteries. What happened to Nefertiti and her husband, Akhenaten - the radical king, and likely father of King Tut? In a dark and mysterious tomb located in the Valley of the Kings, there is a small chamber with two mummies without sarcophagi or wrappings. At times, both have been identified as Queen Nefertiti by scholars, filmmakers and historians. But the evidence has been circumstantial at best.
