New Showbiz Analysis

Dead End is a conventional supernatural thriller that includes some representation through its female protagonist of color. Tina Tanaka has significant influence in pursuing a masked killer despite paranormal threats. However, the film follows traditional genre conventions and institutional hierarchies. Its reliance on religious authority to resolve conflicts suggests reinforcing established social structures rather than challenging them. Overall, while the lead character adds some diversity, the narrative lacks the intentional social critique or broader inclusive casting necessary for a higher score.
