AI Analysis

Rain over Santiago is a heavy historical drama that prioritizes political realism over identity-based representation. It succeeds in shifting the lens away from Western-centric histories to focus on Latin American systemic struggles. The film's strength lies in its cultural critique and its examination of the dismantling of democratic institutions. It provides a nuanced view of power dynamics during the 1973 Chilean coup. However, the film remains limited by its focus on male-dominated political and military spheres. It lacks representation for LGBTQ+ individuals and does not address disability or neurodivergence.
