AI Analysis

Rosario distinguishes itself in the horror genre by replacing standard Western tropes with a culturally specific framework. The film moves beyond superficial aesthetics, using Afro-syncretic spirituality as a central engine for its supernatural elements. The narrative succeeds in elevating a female lead and exploring the weight of ancestral legacy. It effectively uses the occult as a metaphor for cultural preservation against systemic erasure. While the film lacks visible engagement with LGBTQ+ identities, its commitment to intersectional storytelling through themes of immigration and religion provides a much deeper level of representation than typical genre fare.
