Strengths

  • The sibling dynamic between Trina and Dan provides shared agency in navigating the supernatural threat.

  • The narrative fails to subvert traditional gender hierarchies or engage with progressive systemic critiques.

AI Analysis

This production functions as a conventional late-90s family horror piece. It relies on established genre tropes to drive its supernatural plot rather than engaging with social or systemic critiques. The film maintains a traditional status quo, focusing on a domestic setting and a homogeneous cast. While the protagonists show competence in facing the uncanny, the narrative lacks intentionality regarding intersectional identities. Ultimately, the work operates within standard narrative parameters, offering moderate inclusion through character agency but failing to challenge established social or cultural hierarchies.
